Pippa is taking on some new challenges! She has lived in Sussex for most of her life and currently resides in Brighton with her family, Matthew and Lincoln. In 2016 Matt and Pippa were blessed with their first child and rainbow baby; Lincoln.
From Pippa: Lincoln is the light of our lives and has taught us much in his 7 years. At birth, he was diagnosed with Down Syndrome, something we knew nothing about! But over time, we have learned a lot, not just about DS but somewhat about special needs and have got to know some of the most kind, caring and wonderful people on the planet. And this is what inspired me to write, write about our experiences; the ups and downs of this special journey.
What about the title of the blog? Well, life can be like this….I had a mulled wine evening just before Christmas last year, a very small gathering of a few school mums and I would say, good friends. It had taken a while to clear up the day’s mess so I could make a welcoming room and atmosphere so we could all relax. One friend commented about the tidiness. “Full disclosure”, I said, “Just don’t look in the drawers”. And that is the way I would describe my life in the main; tidy at first glance….but that is because all the “mess” has been chucked into the drawers. Well now it is time to confess that, and start to share and hopefully inspire people that in this world where we all feel we have to present our “perfect” selves, it is ok to be real and be yourself.
